The review site that booked $48k and kept $31k
Everyone says recurring SaaS commissions compound forever. A B2B review site I looked at ran the numbers honestly for once.
2023: 612 paid signups, $48,200 in commissions "earned." By the time the dust settled:
— 38% canceled inside the 60-day clawback window. Gone.
— Another 11% downgraded to free, killing the trailing 30% lifetime cut.
— Net retained after 12 months: $31,400.
That's a 35% haircut on a number they'd already screenshotted for their "how I make passive income" thread.
The tell: their dashboard showed $48k in green for four months before the chargebacks landed. They'd already spent against it.
Recurring isn't a faucet. It's a loan you didn't know you took out.
