Case file: the unboxing that beat the studio spot
One advertiser ran two video sets to the same cold audience. Findings worth filing:
— Polished studio cut: 0.9% click-through, a $14 cost per lead. Looked great, converted average.
— Phone-shot unboxing, vertical, ambient kitchen noise left in: 2.3% click-through, $6.10 cost per lead.
— Same offer, same landing page. Only the creative changed.
Why it works: the messy version reads as a real person showing a real thing, so the skepticism filter never trips. The viewer decides it's a recommendation, not an ad, in the first second.
⭐ Pick of the week. The takeaway isn't "go ugly" — it's that production polish and trust are different axes, and cold traffic pays for trust.
