The image-citation links nobody is reclaiming
Here's free authority sitting unclaimed in most niches. When a brand publishes original charts, maps, or infographics, other sites embed the image but credit-link to the image file or skip the link entirely.
The smart operators reverse-image-search their own graphics, find every embed, and convert image-source uses into proper homepage or article links.
— Tell in a competitor's profile: a cluster of links where the linking page hotlinks an asset on the target's domain — that's a reclaimed image citation.
— Original data visuals are the highest-conversion reclamation targets because the user already chose to display your work.
Multiple data-led profiles quietly run this. Most brands publish a great chart, watch it spread, and never chase the credit.
The asset travels. The link should travel with it.
Watch this space.
