5 specificity swaps that beat superlatives
Vague hype is filtered out; oddly specific detail gets believed. Curated swaps from this week's winners:
— Replace 'fast' with the exact time. '11 minutes' is sticky; 'lightning-fast' is wallpaper.
— Replace 'thousands of customers' with one weirdly precise number. Precision reads as real records.
— Name the exact scenario, not the broad benefit. 'For when you're already late' beats 'saves time.'
— Use an unround price or stat. 4,217 feels measured; 'over 4,000' feels marketed.
— Cite the small flaw alongside the claim. 'Works in 9 of 10 cases' out-converts 'always works.'
🔥 Pick of the week: the unround number. The single cheapest credibility upgrade in copy — and counterintuitive, because marketers instinctively round up. Audit your top ad and de-round every figure.
