The "unlimited storage" plan that died at 250,000 files

The "unlimited storage" plan that died at 250,000 files
They told you: "Unlimited disk space, host anything."
A WooCommerce shop on a popular shared plan crossed 250k inodes (cached product images, logs, mail). The host suspended the account citing a buried "250,000 file limit" in section 9 of the AUP. Disk usage? 11 GB. "Unlimited" space, finite files. The customer paid $0 for storage and got a 3-day outage instead.
Follow the money: counting files costs the host real CPU, so they cap the metric you never check.
Reality: "unlimited" always has a number attached — it's just printed in 8pt grey.
