Today: emojis in push — seasoning, not the meal
New advertisers discover that an emoji in a push title can lift taps, then stuff six into every line. Let's find the calm middle.
Why one emoji helps: in a gray wall of text notifications, a single splash of color or a tiny arrow catches the eye and earns a half-second more attention.
Why six hurt:
— The title looks like spam, and people's spam-radar fires.
— On some phones, too many symbols push your actual words off-screen.
A simple rule: at most one or two emojis, and only where they add meaning — a checkmark, a small alert symbol, a gift box.
Also, test the same headline with and without. Sometimes the plain version wins, especially in serious geos or finance offers.
Try this: take your best headline, make one copy with a single relevant emoji, and run both. Let the clicks decide.
Less is often more here.
