Generic content happens because writers research from page 1 of Google — same sources as everyone they're competing with.
Now my briefs include 3-4 non-obvious sources: a niche forum thread, a primary stat from a report, a Reddit consensus screenshot.
The writer builds on inputs the top 10 don't have, so the output isn't a re-skin of the SERP.
— Posts started earning links because they cited stuff others missed
— Editors flagged way fewer 'this reads like everyone else' drafts
