FAQ schema is not winning you snippets — and may be hurting
10:50 UTC — Killing a persistent myth: multiple sources confirm FAQ structured data does not directly trigger featured snippets, and after Google's rich-result pullback, most FAQ markup no longer even renders in SERPs for non-gov/health sites.
Worse, some teams report bloated FAQ blocks diluting the clean single-answer paragraph Google wants to extract, splitting the signal across a dozen Q&As.
Why it matters: stop bolting FAQ schema onto pages expecting answer boxes. Snippets come from extractable on-page prose under matching headings, full stop. The schema is a separate, now-mostly-dead lane. Audit what you're actually getting from it. Watching this.
