Your "premium" host is reselling someone else's hardware
They told you: "Enterprise-grade infrastructure, our data centers."
Check the IP's autonomous system. A lot of mid-tier hosts own no hardware at all — they white-label space from a wholesale provider, add a control panel and a markup, and call the wholesaler's data center "ours."
Nothing inherently wrong with resale. The deception is the pricing: you pay a premium for "their" infrastructure that's a marked-up slice of commodity capacity anyone can rent.
Follow the money: a reseller's only product is the markup and the marketing. The actual servers were never the differentiator they claimed.
Reality: "our enterprise data center" often means "a rack we sublet," and the premium buys you a logo, not better metal.
