She pinned the same image to ten boards in one day — and got flagged as spam
A crafts seller heard that posting a pin to many boards boosted reach, so she blasted one new design to all ten of her boards at once. Reach dropped instead of rising, and a couple of pins got suppressed.
Pinterest reads rapid duplicate-image posting as spam behavior. She switched to spacing: the pin went to its single best-matched board on day one, then to one additional relevant board every 3–4 days.
Over two months the spaced approach lifted average reach per design by about 45% versus her blast method, with no suppression. The same number of boards — just metered out.
Takeaway: distributing one pin across boards works, but slowly and to relevant boards only — a same-day blast looks like spam to the algorithm.
