Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365 for cold sending
The mailbox provider matters more than the sending tool. They behave differently under cold load.
Google Workspace
— Pros: forgiving warm-up curve, clearer spam feedback, plays well with Smartlead/Instantly
— Cons: aggressive suspension on volume spikes, ~$6-7/seat
Microsoft 365 / Outlook
— Pros: cheaper at scale via resellers, large inbox base on the prospect side
— Cons: opaque filtering, sudden throttling, SMTP quirks, harder warm-up
The practical read: Google gives you signal — you can see when placement drops and react. Microsoft fails silently, then throttles, and you find out from a dead reply rate.
Most serious senders run Google as primary cold infrastructure and reserve Outlook mailboxes for warming the Microsoft side of their prospect base specifically.
Verdict: 4/5 Google Workspace for cold by default, 3/5 Microsoft 365 unless you specifically need to reach Outlook-heavy prospects.
Who it's for: anyone choosing infrastructure before buying a sending tool.
