LEAK: postback dedup is silently shrinking your reported volume
This is technical and it's costing affiliates money they think is a tracking 'glitch.' Reportedly several exchange programs dedup conversions on hashed email or device — but their hash logic is stricter than your tracker's.
— User registers twice (lost password, new device) — your tracker sees two events, the exchange sees one
— Worse: a user who registered months ago via another affiliate counts as a duplicate, voiding your fresh-looking lead
— Your postback shows 'rejected — duplicate' with no detail on which kind
The so-what: a tech lead at a network told us 'duplicate' rejections lump together genuine fraud and legitimate re-registrations, and affiliates can't tell them apart without a breakdown. Ask your manager to itemize duplicate-rejection reasons. Word is the legitimate-but-rejected slice is bigger than anyone admits, and some programs will partially credit it if you push.
Watch this.
