Free backups, $150 to actually restore one
They told you: "Daily backups included, your data is safe."
Backups are cheap to take and the marketing loves them. The catch is the verb that matters: restore. Read the fine print and the free backup often comes with a paid restore — a "recovery fee" of $100–$150, or a tool that only restores the whole account, nuking your other sites.
A backup you can't restore for free isn't a safety net. It's a hostage situation with your own files.
Follow the money: charging to restore monetizes your worst day, when you'll pay anything to get back online.
Reality: "backups included" tells you nothing — ask what restoring costs, and whether you can do it yourself.
