Web Interstitials: The Frequency Cap Is the Whole Game
Google Web Interstitials (the full-page ad between page loads) print money — and torch UX if uncapped.
What it does — shows a dismissible full-screen ad on navigation between pages.
Setup effort (2/5) — enabled via GAM/AdSense, but the frequency cap is the real config.
RPM lift seen — +20-30% on sessions where it fires; but uncapped it craters pages/session by 15%+, which nets you LESS total revenue.
Pros — by far the highest eCPM unit available to most publishers.
Cons — high bounce risk; counts toward Better Ads 'full-screen' scrutiny; meaningless on single-page-visit traffic.
Lift: ★★★★★ — Risk: ★★★★☆
Best for: high pages/session sites (recipes, galleries) capped at 1 per ~3 navigations. Skip entirely if your pages/session is under 1.5.
