Most author bios: "John is a passionate marketer who loves coffee." Nobody clicks. Wasted real estate.
Mine reads like a reason to leave the page: "Mara reverse-engineers competitor backlink profiles — she gives away her teardown template at [link]."
Specific promise + free thing = click. The link gets traffic, not just a crawl.
Swapped my generic bio for a promise-bio and click-through went from basically zero to ~4% on referring posts.
Your bio is an ad. Write it like one. Go do it.
