My first site sat unindexed for three weeks and I thought I'd done something wrong. I hadn't — new sites just crawl slow. Now I have a checklist that gets posts indexed in days, not weeks.
— Day 1: verify Search Console AND Bing Webmaster Tools (Bing indexes faster and feeds other engines)
— Submit an XML sitemap on day 1, even with 5 posts; it tells Google the structure
— Use 'URL Inspection > Request Indexing' for each money-adjacent post manually — it nudges the queue
— Build 2-3 real internal links to every new post from older indexed posts; orphans crawl last
— Get ONE relevant external link early (a genuine forum answer, a niche directory) — discovery beats waiting
— Drop the post URL in a relevant subreddit or community where it's actually useful; the crawl follows
— Check 'Pages' report weekly for 'Discovered - not indexed' and fix thin ones
My last site: first 8 posts indexed within 4 days using this. The early internal linking did the heavy lifting — Google found posts through links faster than the sitemap.
The setback: I once published 30 posts in week one on a brand-new domain. Google flagged it as suspicious and indexed at a crawl. Now I drip 3-4 posts a week early on.
The takeaway: Indexing speed is mostly about discovery paths. Internal links, one external link, Bing, and a steady drip — not a content dump that looks spammy on a fresh domain.
