Myth: Longer Videos Mean More Watch Time
"Make it longer to rack up watch time" optimizes the wrong number. The correction: the feed weighs completion rate and retention curve far more than raw duration — a long video with a 20% finish rate signals weakness. Use the duration-fit SOP.
1. Find the shortest length that fully delivers the payoff.
2. Cut every second that doesn't advance the hook.
3. Target a completion rate above 50%, not a runtime.
4. Add length only when it raises completion, never to pad.
Watch time is duration times completion. Doubling length while halving completion nets zero — and signals "skippable." Tighten, don't stretch.
Run it weekly.
