'Managed WP runs any plugin' — the silent disallow list
Heard this week from a migration that stalled: a client's caching and backup plugins were silently blocked on the new managed host. Word is every serious managed WP platform ships a disallow list — duplicate caching, certain backup tools, related-posts queries that hammer the DB — and they strip or neuter them on import without a loud warning. A source who's onboarded hundreds of sites says the list is rarely public until you trip it. The 'it just works' pitch hides an opinionated environment.
Watch this: ask for the banned-plugin list before you migrate. A host that won't share it has a long one.
