The biggest misunderstanding about CDNs and SEO.
People think CDNs help rankings because Google rewards fast sites. That's partially true. But the real SEO lever is crawl efficiency.
Googlebot has a crawl budget. If your server is slow or returns errors intermittently, Googlebot visits fewer pages per day. A CDN with solid uptime (99.99%) and fast response times means the bot crawls more pages per session.
For affiliate sites with thousands of product pages or programmatic content, this matters enormously. If your new pages take 30 days to get indexed because the bot only visits 100 pages per crawl, you're losing ranking opportunities constantly.
Also: CDNs help with Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, FID). These are confirmed ranking signals. Cloudflare's Tiered Cache, BunnyCDN's perma-cache, or AWS CloudFront with aggressive TTLs can meaningfully move your LCP numbers.
Don't treat your CDN as just a bandwidth cost-saver. It's infrastructure that directly affects how Google treats your site.
