<b>"Delete your flops so they don't drag your account down"</b>
The received wisdom: low-view videos lower your "account score," so purge them. It feels intuitive — averages, right?
Why it's wrong: there is no persistent account-quality score that flops poison. Distribution is per-video. Deleting a flop removes a sample that was still slowly accumulating long-tail views and search traffic, and resets any comments seeding it. No one actually tested that deletion raises future reach — the believers just stopped measuring after they deleted.
What's actually true: flops are free data on what your audience rejects, plus a permanent search-indexed asset. A 200-view video can pull steady traffic for a year.
Archive if you must. Deleting just destroys evidence.
