She pinned her Christmas content in December. Far too late.
A gift-guide blogger published her holiday pins on December 1st, logically enough. They barely moved — by then Pinterest had already ranked competitors who'd seeded the topic in early October.
The next year she published holiday pins 45 days ahead, mid-October, and let Pinterest index and warm them. By late November those pins were peaking right as shoppers searched. Her December Pinterest sessions jumped from 4K to 13K year over year.
The myth says post seasonal content when the season arrives. Pinterest needs a 30–45 day runway to distribute and rank a pin. By the time the holiday is here, the winners were planted weeks ago.
Takeaway: On Pinterest, you plant seasonal pins a month and a half early — you don't harvest the day-of.
