Tracking RevShare LTV: the cohort view the panel won't build for you
RevShare panels show this month's earnings. They almost never show whether last quarter's traders are still alive. That gap hides your real CAC.
What this is: Grouping traders by signup month and tracking net revenue per cohort over time, so you see decay, not just a monthly total.
Best for: RevShare and Hybrid affiliates deciding which traffic source to scale.
What the cohort reveals:
— Source A pays great in month 1 but flatlines (gamblers, not traders)
— Source B pays less upfront but compounds (real traders who keep depositing)
— True payback period per channel, not a blended average that lies
How to build it:
— Export panel data by signup date + trader ID monthly
— Pivot net rev by cohort month in a sheet or a tracker with cohort reports
— Watch month-3 retention as the early kill/scale signal
Cons:
— Many panels don't expose per-trader rev, only aggregate — ask for API access
— Negative-carryover months distort a cohort if not normalized
Who should skip this: Pure CPA buyers — your value realizes at FTD, so trader decay isn't your economics.
Verdict: Cohorts expose fake-good sources.
