Casting against type: the mismatch that converts
The obvious creator for an offer is often the worst pick. This week's picks on deliberate casting mismatch:
— An older face for a young-coded product. The contrast makes viewers stop and parse it.
— A skeptic-presenting creator for a hype offer. Their doubt does the de-risking.
— Someone who clearly isn't the target demo endorsing it anyway. Implies broad appeal.
— A low-energy delivery for a high-energy category. The calm reads as confidence, not desperation.
🔥 Pick of the week: the on-camera skeptic. A creator who opens with "I didn't think this would work" pre-loads the viewer's objection and resolves it in one move. The mismatch between their skepticism and the endorsement is the entire credibility play. Cast the doubter, not the cheerleader, when the offer sounds too good.
