Bought an aged domain? Don't reset its link clock to zero
The scared-money move is to drip 3 links a month onto a 12-year-old domain. Insane. You bought AUTHORITY, then you starve it. Sequence I'd run instead:
— Day 0: 301 the old strong pages to matching new pages, not all to home.
— Week 1: re-index the redirected URLs, confirm the old backlinks resolve.
— Week 2-3: add fresh editorial links at a rate that MATCHES the domain's historical pace, not a beginner's.
— Month 2: now push hard, because the domain has earned the right.
An aged domain that survived a decade can take more velocity than your three-month baby site. Treat them the same and you're leaving equity rotting.
