MYTH: enterprise SaaS is where the big affiliate money is
Everyone eyes the $500/mo plans and dreams of fat recurring. But enterprise SaaS is structurally built to cut the affiliate out at the exact moment value appears.
The high-tier plans hide behind "contact sales" and "request a demo." The buyer leaves your tracked checkout flow and enters a sales conversation where your cookie is irrelevant. The CRM credits the rep. You get nothing, or a token finder's fee at best.
The commission you actually earn is on the self-serve plans — the cheap end the sales team doesn't bother with. So the more valuable the deal, the less likely you see a cent of it.
Affiliate models reward self-serve, transactional SaaS. The big-ticket stuff is engineered for direct sales precisely because it's too valuable to share.
Verdict: if it needs a sales call, it doesn't need you.
