The honest review of free Threads schedulers
Tested every free tier I could find for two weeks. Short version: free works, with sharp edges.
— Buffer free: 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time. Genuinely usable for a single light account.
— Metricool free: 1 brand connection, scheduling works, but analytics history is clipped
— Publer free: 3 accounts, 10 scheduled posts, no recycling or bulk
The pattern: free tiers cap your queue depth, not features — you can schedule 10 ahead, but post 11 waits until one fires.
The annoying limitation across all: no team seats and no bulk CSV on free, so the moment you scale past one person, you pay.
The standout: Buffer's free tier is the least crippled for solo Threads posting.
Verdict: For one account, one person, Buffer free is Worth it indefinitely. The day you need a second poster or 20 queued, it's a Wait until you budget for paid.
