Prioritize funnel leaks by absolute lost users, not by step conversion rate.
A 90% step and a 60% step can leak the same headcount — fix where the bodies are.
— Map each step's entry count and exit count.
— Lost users = entries × (1 − step rate). Rank by this absolute number.
— A top-of-funnel step at 88% with 100k entries leaks more (12k) than a checkout at 55% with 4k entries (1.8k).
— Weight by traffic before you weight by percentage.
The ugliest conversion rate is rarely your biggest absolute loss. Read the number, not the story. [rank by Δusers, not Δ%]
