Big search volume is useless if the query never leads to a purchase
High-volume keywords often look attractive because they promise reach, but traffic alone does not pay the bills. If the intent is informational, curious, or academic, you may get visits and still miss the buyer.
Check the query before you write:
— Does it mention price, software, alternatives, comparison, best, or review?
— Would a reader expect to choose a tool or just learn a definition?
— Can the page naturally point to a demo, signup, or product page?
If the answer is mostly “no,” the keyword may still help with awareness, but it should not be your main conversion target. Use these terms for supporting content, then build around pages that match purchase intent: comparison pages, integration pages, alternatives pages, and problem-solution content.
The simplest rule: rank for volume only when the page can also satisfy a buyer. If it cannot, treat the keyword as traffic support, not revenue content.
