Is an exclusive offer always better than a public one?
Q: My network pitched me an 'exclusive' offer. Exclusive = better terms and less competition, right?
A: Sometimes — but 'exclusive to this network' doesn't mean exclusive to you. Hundreds of other affiliates on the same network can run it. The real questions: is the payout higher than the same advertiser's public offer elsewhere, and is the advertiser direct or is your network a sub-network?
Exclusivity adds value only when it comes with a better payout, a higher cap, or fresher creatives competitors can't access. Otherwise it's just a label. Ask what's concretely better versus the public version.
Short version: 'exclusive' is a marketing word until it buys you better terms.
