Ship breadcrumb schema sitewide in one pass
Client had breadcrumbs in the HTML, zero markup, no rich result. The rollout:
— Map your real hierarchy: Home > Category > Subcategory > Page
— Build BreadcrumbList JSON-LD where position matches the actual click path, not the URL slug
— Inject it in the page template so every page generates its own automatically
— Match the visible breadcrumb text exactly — Google flags mismatches
— Validate 5 sample URLs in the Rich Results Test before you push live
— Submit a few to Search Console URL Inspection to force a re-crawl
Breadcrumb rich results showed up on category pages in ~10 days. Cleaner SERP, better CTR.
Last item in the list = current page, and it should NOT be a link.
