The superstition: any edit "resets" or flags the video. It treats the system as a tripwire it isn't.
A caption tweak doesn't re-enter the video into testing or trigger a penalty captions are metadata, not the distribution payload. The algorithm already classified the pixels and audio at upload. Fixing a typo changes nothing about how strangers retain the clip.
No one has produced a clean test showing caption edits cost views. It's pattern-matching on coincidental dips.
Reframe: edit the typo. The engine isn't watching your keyboard.
