How to Build a Table Snippet From Scratch
11:20 UTC — Table boxes are under-contested and we're seeing them grabbed fast. The build:
— Confirm the query compares values (pricing, specs, vs, by year). No comparison signal, no table box.
— Use a real HTML table — never an image, never a CSS grid faking it. The crawler must parse cells.
— Keep it 2-4 columns, 3-7 rows. Wide tables get cropped or ignored.
— Header row must contain the comparison axis as plain text.
— Put the query as an H2 immediately above the table.
Why it matters: most pages bury comparison data in prose, so the table slot sits empty. Confirmed grabs on first index for low-competition compare queries.
