Monthly postback checks that catch silent tracking leaks fast
Once a month, audit every active offer for the same weak points:
— Click ID is still being passed from ad to landing to offer
— Postback URL matches the network’s required parameters
— Statuses are mapped the same way everywhere
— Test conversion fires once, not twice
— Redirects, cloaking, or extra hops are not stripping the ID
Then compare three numbers side by side: tracker, network, and advertiser. Small gaps are normal; growing gaps usually mean a broken token, a lost parameter, or a postback firing on the wrong event. If one offer starts drifting while the rest stay clean, isolate that flow first instead of guessing across the whole account.
Also check the boring stuff: expired offer URLs, paused campaigns still receiving traffic, duplicate pixels, and subID rules that changed in one place but not the others. Most “missing conversion” cases are not mysterious; they are one broken link in a chain that used to work.
Keep a simple audit log: offer name, tracking method, test result, and any fix applied. Next month, you will spot pattern failures faster and stop re-debugging the same problem.
Treat postback health like bookkeeping: if the numbers disagree, start at the first click and verify every handoff.
