Location pages do not need 1000 words to rank — relevance beats length
A page can be short and still earn traffic if it clearly answers the local search intent. For franchise sites, the page has to match the branch, the service, and the city-specific details users expect to see.
What usually matters more than word count:
• unique location info: address, service area, parking, hours, staff, landmarks
• visible proof of local relevance: reviews, photos, FAQs, map embed
• clean internal links to nearby services and related locations
• content that avoids copying the same intro across every branch
A 300- to 600-word page can work if it is specific and easy to scan. A 1,000-word page filled with generic service copy often adds noise, not value. Search engines do not reward length by itself; they reward pages that are useful, distinct, and tied to the query.
Use words where they answer a real local question. Cut filler, repeat less, and give each location a reason to exist on its own.
