Exclusive codes do not stay exclusive: find the leak before blaming affiliates
An exclusive voucher can spread when a partner republishes it, a sub-affiliate feeds it to a coupon site, an extension detects it, or a customer posts it publicly. The visible publisher is not always the source.
Find the break point:
• Save the first URL, referral parameters and landing page.
• Compare wording and terms across placements.
• Check the account, sub-network and traffic type behind each placement.
• Separate one-off customer sharing from systematic distribution.
Use specific controls: issue partner-level codes or variants, ban redistribution in writing, and run test orders from approved placements. Check search results, email, extensions and coupon databases. Record where the code appears and whether attribution survives checkout.
Map the chain from advertiser to network, partner, sub-affiliate and publisher. Pause the smallest segment that violates the rule instead of banning every coupon partner.
Unique codes plus an evidence trail make leakage measurable and enforcement more precise.
