A category page is an auto-generated list ordered by date. It links 12 recent items and pages the rest into oblivion. That's not a hub — it's a feed. It passes equity to whatever's newest, not whatever's best.
A real hub is a hand-built pillar that links to your 15-20 strongest cluster pages with descriptive anchors, in deliberate order, with surrounding context. It concentrates equity on the pages you <i>want</i> to rank, not the ones that posted today.
Stop letting chronology do your internal linking.
