Onboarding a new franchise location? Don’t skip these SEO basics
A new branch should not be treated like a copy-paste job. The first pass is about control: make sure the location has one canonical URL, one phone number, one address format, and one owner in your internal workflow. If those four drift, tracking and local visibility start to break.
Before publishing, collect the assets that keep the page accurate: NAP details, service scope, business hours, brand-approved photos, Google Business Profile access, and the local contact for future updates. Also check whether the page needs unique copy for staff, parking, neighborhoods served, or franchise-specific services.
Then wire it into the rest of the system: add the page to the sitemap, connect it to the main location hub, set internal links from relevant service pages, and make sure schema matches the real-world data. If you manage reviews, assign the location to the right response queue and reporting dashboard. 📍
After launch, verify indexing, test the phone number and form, and compare the page title, H1, and meta description against the rest of the network to avoid duplication.
The safest rule: launch only when the page, GBP, reporting, and review flow all point to the same location data.
