One listing rewrite can lift conversion more than a traffic push
A weak listing often leaks clicks at three points: the title pulls in mixed intent, the bullets answer the wrong objections, and the images don’t close the sale. In that case, extra traffic only finds the same friction faster.
The fix is not “more keywords.” It is tighter message match:
• title: put the core use case first
• bullets: answer fit, size, material, outcome
• images: show the product in context, not just on white
When you rewrite, keep the search terms that already index, but move them into a structure buyers can read in seconds. That usually means fewer repeated phrases, cleaner hierarchy, and one clear promise per bullet. A listing can rank fine and still convert badly if the first screen feels generic. 🛒
Watch session quality, not just clicks. If traffic stays similar but unit session percentage rises, the rewrite fixed intent alignment. If impressions drop sharply, you likely over-pruned keywords or made the title too narrow.
Start with the first image, title, and opening bullet. If those three do not tell the same story, the page is working against itself.
