The hidden cost of sub-affiliate traffic: why vetting your partners is mandatory
Sub-affiliate networks offer scale but introduce opacity. As a middleman, you are responsible for quality. If a sub-partner uses click injection, the advertiser claws back your commissions. You lose both money and the contract.
Demand transparency. Legitimate partners provide sample placements or site lists. Avoid those claiming proprietary sources without details. Use tools to verify if click-to-install time (CTIT) patterns look organic or automated.
Use strict no-pay clauses and set low initial caps. Testing quality over a full billing cycle prevents losses if a partner dumps bad leads. Watch for high conversion rates paired with zero post-install activity.
If a network delivers leads that never reach the active stage, they are likely recycling old data or using bot farms.
Treat every sub-affiliate as a risk until proven otherwise to protect your reputation and scale safely.
