Dozens of GBP listings break when bulk access is sloppy
When you manage many Google Business Profiles, the real risk is not setup — it is control. One account with too much power, one shared login, or one missing owner transfer can stall edits across the whole network. Treat every profile like a separate asset, even if the workflow is centralized.
Use bulk uploads for repeatable fields only: name format, categories, hours, phone, website, and location-specific attributes. Before upload, lock a master sheet with exact rules for naming, abbreviations, service areas, and UTM tags. If the sheet is inconsistent, bulk changes spread errors faster than manual edits ever would.
Permissions need the same discipline. Keep a short list of primary owners, use managers for day-to-day work, and avoid handing access to agencies or staff who do not need it. Remove access when a role changes, and document who owns verification, who handles reviews, and who can publish posts. ✅
The safest setup is simple: one source of truth for data, one access map for people, and one audit routine for all locations. If you cannot answer “who can edit what” in under a minute, the account structure is already too loose.
