Getting crawled more will not improve your rankings

There's a quiet assumption under most crawl-budget advice: more crawling equals more ranking. It doesn't. Crawling, indexing, and ranking are three separate stages, and pumping the first one does nothing for the third.

Google can crawl a page daily and still rank it nowhere, because the crawl just tells Google what's on the page. Whether that page deserves to rank is a completely different judgment made on relevance, links, and quality.

John Mueller has said it repeatedly: crawl frequency is not a quality or ranking signal. A page crawled hourly isn't "better" in Google's eyes than one crawled monthly.

Crawling is Google reading the page. Ranking is Google deciding it's worth showing. Reading more doesn't make the page worth more.
