Map Pack terms that confuse contractors usually hide the real ranking issue

Map pack: the 3 local results shown on Google for a service query. If you are not there, first check whether your GBP matches the search intent and the service area.

SAB: service-area business. You do not need a storefront to rank, but your address rules, service area, and category must be consistent everywhere. NAP means name, address, phone. Keep it identical on your site, GBP, and major citations.

Citation: any mention of your business details on another site. A clean citation profile helps trust, but a bad one can dilute it. Proximity is the distance between the searcher and your listed location or service area; you cannot force it, only avoid confusing signals.

GBP suspension usually comes from mismatched details, fake addresses, or weak proof of operations. If the listing gets flagged, have utility bills, signage, and business docs ready before you appeal.

Use this glossary as a troubleshooting order: intent, NAP, citations, proximity, then GBP risk. Fix the basics before chasing reviews or links.
