YouTube vs blog for SaaS affiliate: the link-decay problem

YouTube vs blog for SaaS affiliate: the link-decay problem
Everyone says "video converts better." Video also traps your links where you can't fix them.

Blog: you edit the post, swap a dead link, update a stale price in 30 seconds. Your asset stays current.

YouTube: the affiliate link is frozen in the description of a video with 50k views. When the program changes its URL structure or shuts down, that link rots in public and you're rewriting descriptions one by one.

The tradeoff:
— Blog: editable, SEO-durable, lower trust-per-view.
— Video: higher trust and conversion per viewer, but link rot and zero bulk-edit.

And YouTube descriptions get fewer clicks than people pretend, most viewers never scroll.

Verdict: video sells harder, blog ages better. If you go video, route every link through a redirect you control so you can fix the destination later.
