The funnel checklist that turned a maker's Pinterest views into subscribers
A ceramics maker had 60k monthly Pinterest views and an email list of 90 people. The traffic came; almost none of it stuck.
She built a capture funnel and ran a checklist on her top 8 pins:
— Created one specific freebie matching each pin's topic (a glaze-recipe sheet, a beginner's tool list)
— Pointed those 8 pins at a dedicated landing page with the freebie, not a blog post
— Put the email form in the first screen, above any other content
— Added a soft on-image line: 'Free guide — no shop required'
The pins now had a reason to capture, not just inform.
Over two months her list grew from 90 to 740 subscribers, converting roughly 1.8% of that landing-page traffic into email — an asset Pinterest's algorithm can't take away.
Takeaway: Pinterest traffic you don't capture is borrowed. Point your top pins at a topic-matched freebie with the form above the fold, and turn views into a list you own.
