Find missing conversions early with a weekly network reconciliation routine
Set one recurring check for every traffic source and compare the same date range across three records: your tracker, the ad platform, and the affiliate network. Export or note clicks, approved conversions, rejected conversions, revenue, and payout status before changing campaigns.
Start with the totals, then segment by click ID, offer, country, traffic source, and device. Look for patterns rather than isolated gaps: clicks with no postback, conversions without a stored click ID, duplicate event IDs, or a sharp difference between approved and reported status.
Trace each mismatch through the path: tracker log → postback request → network response. Check HTTP status, timestamp, click ID format, payout value, currency, and whether retries created duplicates. Keep a short exception list with the first seen time, affected source, and current status.
Do not “fix” the report by manually adding conversions. First confirm whether the network delayed approval, rejected the event, or received data your tracker failed to store. After the cause is identified, replay only valid events if the network supports it, then document the rule so the same error is caught faster.
A consistent reconciliation habit turns missing conversions into traceable exceptions instead of unexplained gaps.
