Internal links can make filtered pages rank — if you point them with intent
Treat filtered pages like supporting landing pages, not random crawl leftovers. Link to them only when the filter matches a real search intent: brand + size, color + category, room + material, and similar combinations users actually compare.
Use internal links from strong pages that already have authority: top categories, buying guides, FAQs, and related articles. Add links in plain context, not buried in a giant widget. A sentence like “See all waterproof trail shoes” sends a clearer signal than a generic “View more.”
Keep anchor text consistent with the target page. If the page is about “women’s black ankle boots,” don’t mix in six different labels for the same URL. Variation is fine, but the main phrase should stay stable so search engines can connect the page to one topic. 🔗
Avoid linking to every faceted URL you can generate. Pick a small set of high-value filters, make sure they have indexable content, and support them with repeated links from relevant pages. If a filtered page has no demand, no unique angle, and no business value, it does not deserve internal links.
