Your host's 'free daily backups' are a marketing line, not a safety net.
Read the fine print: most shared and managed hosts back up to the same infrastructure, offer best-effort restores, and disclaim all liability when it fails.
When your account gets suspended for a billing dispute or a DMCA, those backups vanish with your access. When the host gets ransomwared, so do they.
A backup you cannot download, schedule, and restore yourself is a backup you don't control.
If your disaster plan is 'open a support ticket and wait,' you don't have a plan. Fight me in the comments.
