— User vote buttons (worked/didn't): cheap, real signal, but lags — by the time votes accumulate, you've served a dead code to thousands and eaten the bounce.
— Automated checkout-bot testing: catches expiry pre-publish, but merchants flag the bot traffic and some now ban sites running synthetic checkouts against their carts.
Why it matters: We hear the survivors run light bot-testing on high-traffic codes only, votes for the long tail. Full-bot shops are getting cart-fraud flags from merchants. Pick by code volume.
