One long pillar vs a snippet-per-page split — the eligibility math
Unconfirmed but the pattern's loud: teams cram twelve answerable questions into one 4,000-word pillar, then wonder why it wins zero boxes.
The tradeoff that decides it:
— Long pillar: strong topical authority, but the extractor struggles to isolate which buried chunk answers which query.
— Focused page: cleaner answer-to-query mapping, easier box extraction, weaker standalone authority.
The split we keep hearing works — pillar holds the topic, but spin the three highest-CTR questions into their own tight URLs and internal-link up. You get authority and extractable answers. Reportedly the all-in-one pillar tops out at PAA crumbs while the split pages take the marquee boxes. Watching this.
