Net-revenue share vs gross payout: read the fine print

Net-revenue share vs gross payout: read the fine print

New to recurring? "You earn 30%" sounds simple until you ask: 30% of what?

Two bases:

— Gross: a slice of the full sticker price.
— Net: a slice of what's left after payment fees, taxes, refunds, or discounts.

Net shares quietly shrink your check. Card fees alone eat 3-5%, and coupon use can cut the base further.

In plain English: gross pays on the big number; net pays on the smaller leftover number.

Example: a $30/month plan at 30% gross = $9/month. The same 30% on net (after a 20% coupon and 3% fees) might be 30% of about $23 = $6.90/month. That's a 23% smaller payout on the exact same customer.

Try today: find the word "net" or "gross" in one program's terms before you trust the percentage.
